We self-finance by sharing in the wealth of co-operation. We respect that resources are finite, but that potential is not. We recognise mistakes as necessary to progress, giving credit where it is due, and we aim to conduct our business in an open, honest and sustainable way.

Worldwide, co-operatives share the same core principles, based on the first modern co-operative founded in Rochdale, in 1844. Membership is voluntary and without discrimination. At Zero-credit, we are working to end the discrimination of borrowers who become debtors. Coops are democratic - members participate actively in making decisions. Zero-credit Members have a say in our meetings online or in person. Members contribute equally to the capital of the co-operative. A share in Zero-credit costs £1 because we want membership to be as affordable as possible. Coops are self-help organisations, controlled by their members, making them truly independent. Zero-credit Members choose our Management Committee and set our priorities. Coops provide education and training to support members, staff and volunteers. One of our Directors has specialist expertise and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Co-operatives serve their members by working together through local, national, regional and international structures. Zero-credit enjoys excellent connections in the public, private and third sectors. Coops work for the sustainable development of communities to an agenda that is set by members. We'd love you to join Zero-credit and take control! |
